OneNote sync issues in MS Teams

Hi Team,

When i create a section from teams that specific section is getting synced but when i open the same OneNote from SharePoint and create a new section its not shown as tab in the team.

My understanding is that a single OneNote notebook exists for a Team - this notebook is stored in the SharePoint site for the Group related to the Team.

In Teams, each time you add a OneNote tab in a channel, a section gets created in the OneNote notebook.

If you create a section directly in OneNote, it would not be visible in Teams.

Think of it as a one way sync - Teams is the master.

Na, it's a two way sync. It's just Teams shows a tab section and pages within that tab and that's it as a tab in Teams. If you want to see everything in the notebook you need to use the website tab option and link to your Onenote via the OneNote online instead to navigate to everything.

Is there a way to get it to sync if you add a tab in OneNote and want it to show in OneNote in Teams?

If you mean a Tab in Teams to be created from a tab in OneNote no.

If you mean entire notebooks synced then you just add a OneNote tab and point it at the OneNote notebook on the SHarePoint site.

Thank you -- was just expecting that a OneNote notebook would look the same whether in OneNote or in Teams -- (given the same name in both places). Very confusing for the end users. Will have to remember to create a tab in Teams for each separate 'section' from the OneNote notebook.

It's less confusing now, cause you can just have a Notebook for each channel instead of juggling tabs. Link to the notebook parent level and just navigate tabs from that.
