When composing in the OneNote desktop application to a notebook attached to a team site, there is an option to link to a Teams document that is synced to the file explorer but when I use this link it pulls from the C drive and is not able to be opened by others on my team, even though this document is a shared teams document.

 

How can I fix this? How can I link to a teams doc in my teams OneNote and have it be available to all the team. Going and fetching the link from teams moves this process from a 5 click to a 15 click process.

Did you mean using the OneNote notebook from the SharePoint site when Teams was created, or

Do you plan to use an existing notebook from OneDrive/local PC? 

 

Typically, I use "Add a tab" to display OneNote notebooks (adding new sections) in a specific Channel.

Hi! Please elaborate a little more on what you’ve done

The OneNote notebook was created when adding a OneNote tab to a team, the notebook in question then opened in the desktop OneNote client (NOT in the tab). From there I take notes and want to insert a link to a doc in my notebook.

 

I right click, select 'link', then a box pops up and i am prompted to choose from within a notebook, a file, or an online file. I choose a teams file that is synced down to my file explorer. The title of the file and its location are auto populated, I click okay, the box goes away, and then there is a link with the name of the file inserted into my notebook.

 

The link I just created is not able to be opened by other members of my team.
