Microsoft Teams and Project Online (SharePoint Sites)

We're looking at rolling out Microsoft Teams, but we use Project Online to manage our projects. Many of the SharePoint sites within the collection have varying degrees of inherited permissions.

Will these permissions propagate to a team (should we set one up?). What if a member of the Microsoft team does not have access to the Project Site? Does that mean they cannot see or edit the documents?

Do you mean that if you set up a team on a existing SP site?
If so each channel in the team will create a folder on the default library with read/write access! Other folders within that library won’t be visible! You might add the whole library / other library as a sharepoint library tab or cloud storage! Teams will honor the permissions in SharePoint!!
Not sure what you mean here, Project Online is totally disconnected at the moment from Groups and Teams...and this situation is not going to change in the futre so you cannot connect a Project Online Site to a Group / Team
