In teams we have the option of choosing a document library so it can added as a tab. when going through the set up process we can specify the link/URL. This is the approach we were testing as we have use cases for setting a subdirectory inside a document library as a Tab in Teams so for easy access. Although we can add the full url going directly to the Subfolder the Document Library app/connector/title ignores the subfolder and instead sets the root document library as the landing point for the Tab. Does anyone know if we will have an option for setting up a Tab that points to a specific subfolder within a document library? Thanks
So what you can do here, Create a New Site Page on the underlying SharePoint page. Add the Document Library webpart to the page. Edit that library web part. You will have an option to specify the SubFolder as a property setting there. Save / Publish the page.
Now Use the SharePoint tab in Teams and Point it to that new page. Pretty sure this should give you what you need.
@Chris Webb Thank you very much for the suggestion, it works great when using a Laptop or Desktop. Unfortunately it the page does not render when we use a mobile device like an iPad. On mobile devices we get a generic Teams error stating that something went wrong and that the page associated with the tab cannot be opened. We get the retry button but it does not seem to work. Not sure of there is a known issue with this functionality when leveraging mobile devices. Unfortunately our use case involves users who exclusively rely on their mobile devices. Thanks!
