I've got Skype for Business 2015 installed on my computer, along with Outlook 2013 and the Microsoft Teams desktop app. I've also got a Skype Meeting scheduled that I'd like to join, which was created in Outlook 2013.

When I click "join the Skype Meeting" from within Outlook, it opens up directly within Skype for Business, which I have open. This is great, and the behavior that I would expect.

When I click "join the Skype Meeting" from the Microsoft Teams desktop app (or the web portal for Teams, too), instead of opening the meeting in my already-running Skype for Business application, it opens a new tab in my web browser and asks me to log into the Lync Web App.

It doesn't make sense that a new product (Teams) would try to open a skype meeting in a defunct application (Lync was replaced with Skype for Business 2015) instead of the modern one, especially considering I have the modern one installed, and *don't* have the defunct Lync application installed.

How can I get Teams to open these Skype links (the url for which is https://meet.myorganization.org/myusername/randomstring) in Skype for Business instead of opening a Lync Web App tab in my web browser and trying to get me to install Lync?

Did you manage to check in Default Programs, is .ocsmeet extension associated with SFB as default application?

Yes, it is set to: Skype for Business (desktop)

I've got the same problem after yesterday's update; clicking on "Join Skype meeting" link in Outlook lauches an O365 Lync window that sits there, hanging, instead of skype for business, which has the default for the file type.  Any fixes?

I still got exactly this - can someone confirm this is by design or wrong

When I from the Team Desktop click "Join" on a Skype for Business Online meeting in our O365 organization - it opens the web browser (Edge) to https://meet.myorganization.org/myusername/randomstring and when clicking any links there it forces me to use Skype for Business client. Can the Teams Desktop Client join a SfB meeting at all yet?

I have the same issue, is there a way to resolve this?

Don't have those settings yet :(

Still can only chose, Islands or Skype despite being a targeted release tenant.

But both of those would not have the meeting run within the Teams client or am I wrong?

There isn't going to be an option to run Skype Meetings in Teams client, it will always choose to use one of the Skype options.

If you don't have the UI you can still check the value in powershell with https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/skype/get-csteamsupgradeconfiguration?view=skype-...

@Steven Collierthis is a really stupid design.  Teams is new, and its effectively KILLED my ability to join customer-directed meetings without killing the Teams app.  How is this considered progress?  How can we get back the functionality that Teams has taken away?

@AU_SEM why? Teams won't do anything to prevent SfB joining a Skype Meeting.

@Steven Collier No, but it is a pretty frustrating experience to have to retain SoB and effectivly have 2 apps running for "no reason" just because some customers have SoB still and some Teams. Sure you can join via SoB web app, but it isn't as good and having to go backwards to go forwards is a so so user experience.

Teams client should really be able to join SoB meetings
