How are e-mail threads handled by channels?

Hi Everyone!

 

How are e-mail threads handled by channels?

e.g.

I send an e-mail to an external vendor, CC-ing my Channel with the Subject: Your sep 2019 PO

I know that this can create a thread in my channel with my e-mail.

Now, what happens if my vendor replies to my e-mail?

 

Will this create a new thread that's:

Re: Your sep 2019 PO?

 

OR will their reply show up as part of the original Thread?

The Re: will show up as a second conversation.

 

As Robin pointed out, it will Create a new thread. You would have to use a 3rd party like App to integrate e-mail in this manner. Something like MailClark which can handle e-mail conversations in channels and is priced reasonable.
