Headset compatibility issues? Is this still being worked on?

I thought I saw something a while back that Teams was going to be enhanced so that it would work with headsets like Skype for Business does.  Does anyone know if that's still in the works or what's up with that?

 

When we use our current headsets, they work fine but we can't use the mute button or the hang up button on the headsets to control Teams.  Teams knows we are pressing a button but shows a blurb on the screen that says "No device call controls.  Call controls on headsets and other devices aren't available right now."

 

If anyone has any information on this, please let us know.  It causes lots of problems with people being double muted in Teams and on their headset which isn't ideal.

Re the "No device controls" message, MS tech suggested: 1. shut down SfB, 2. use Teams-only mode  3. make request to fix this in Uservoice

We run S4B on prem.  We don't have phone call ability in Teams.  We're planning to migrate everything to Teams later this year but wanted to make sure our headsets will work when we do that.

I am using a Jabra headset approved for Teams and I am in Teams only mode.  I cannot mute a call or hang up.  It is maddening.  The screen to click on the end call button is buried beneath the dialpad, as well. If the other party doesn't hang up right away it is rather awkward trying to disconnect the call. Half the time I cannot answer the call, either.  It won't respond without me clicking on the screen.  Sometimes it does.  Trying to use this as a phone replacement is frustrating.  I had ordered a Teams approved phone, but my contacts wouldn't show up on it and that interface was even worse.  I have been at this for a couple of months and would never recommend this to anyone as a primary phone system.  @Larry Goldfield
