Getting a bot ID for a locally created bot.

Not applicable

How do I get a botID for a bot I created locally in Visual Studio? This is to be put into the manifest.json to upload the bot to Teams.

See here. You get the BotID when you register the Bot with the Microsoft Bot Framework

Hope that answers your question!

Best, Chris

Even though the bot is created locally, the appId and appPassword should go through the App Registration process from the Azure Portal as shown below. I would also recommend going through the new App Registration (Preview) as it supports OAuth 2.0

For the bot to be considered as a bot (not as an app) by Microsoft Teams, it must be hosted in Azure and must go through Bot Channels Registration via Bot Services in Azure Portal, where in you would get the option to create appId and appPassword.
