I have been given guest access to a team.

 

When I attempt to access it in a browser (chrome) I am redirected back to my home institution account and then prompted "Want to switch to your ... account? We might ask you to sign in again."

 

When using the OS X desktop app I am initially told that my account is being switched, the app the returns error code 2:211 and says it needs to be restarted.

 

I am running OS X high sierra.

I have had issues for this for a whole week and I have finally found the solution

 

Go to Go > Go To Folder > Type in:

 

~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft

 

Try deleting the Teams folder there.  This appears to be where all the settings, cookies, caches are stored for that current user.

Hello - did this get resolved for you? I have the same issue, it's like I get stuck in a loop of saying it is switching accounts, signing in again and then getting this error.

 

I've tried deleting the teams folder as suggested further down, but no joy.

 

Any help appreciated!

Hi Dan, in the end I had to use a different office 365 account. I appreciate that isn’t very helpful.
MS support said the account was corrupted, and having my local org recreate the account should solve it. But it didn’t, but perhaps that could work for you, if it’s an option.

No problem and I appreciate the reply - I was thinking maybe next port of call would be to see if I could have my guest access revoked and then reinstated (as I could access it at one point) and see from there.
