is it already possible or planned to enable a function to enable a functionality that allows users to edit messages posted from someone else?
We're using Teams in IT to quickly document changes and find it very helpful since it is much quicker than writing a blog in SharePoint i.e. However, a given message in Teams can only be edited by the original author of the message. For documentation purposes, it would be helpful to allow editing of messages from every user on a team - independent from the user who originally created it. It would be ideal if this was possible only on particular channels and changes from other users would be seen in a little version history.
You can't edit other messages and I haven't seen anything in the works for that, only delete. The SharePoint Modern pages work great for doing "Update" items etc. that can be edited by others etc. Ever considered using a Comm site for these instead? You could always link to that page as well soon inside of a Teams channel or just have a connector soon that would link to these pages. So a post will come in to the channel linking to the news post in the comm site where you can get full fidelity web part modern pages.
