I am trying to disable MS Team from startup on windows 7 computer but not having any luck. I have gone to msconfig - startup and disable team but when I open team again manually and reboot the computer, it starts the MS team again on startup.
It seems to work only once on startup and then again the MS team is enabled on startup.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Paul. I have looked into that but it only applies to Win 10. I tried the option listed for windows 7 but I am not able see to MS team shortcut on startup. The reg fix also only apply to Win 7 so haven't tried yet.

In the article's comments there's a question for Windows 7 with the following suggestion:
For Windows 7 we cannot use this Registry Key. We need to delete the MS Teams shortcut in:
Please note that if you need to restore it you should move it to a different location instead of deleting it.

Anyone has any other suggestion?
I have tried installing MS team on another computer as well which is an Win 7 64 bit machine and I am still not able to see the shortcut on the startup menu. I have tried with both 32 and 64 bit version but same result. This does not make sense.
However when i log off and log back on MS team starts and opens. I just don't want MS team to start on startup.

I was able to stop Microsoft Teams from auto-starting from within the application. Currently there is a small circle in the bottom left of the window. Click on this, hover over application, then click on 'Auto-start application' to remove the check mark. This successfully stopped Microsoft Teams from auto starting after I logged out then back into my Windows 7 account. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the update.
Could you please post a screenshot from the machine how you have disabled.

I have been working on trying to disable MS team from starting up at logon all morning.. Luckily I found a way to disable this setting by default.. See link below:

When I opened setting on my Microsoft Teams, it doesn't show Applications so I can stop it from automatically launching. What do I do now?

Thank you, Steven. I use Microsoft Team in Cloud Office 365 so I looked on the app there. When I opened up the desktop app, I found it. Duh! Thanks again.

That's because it isn't there. Where I found it on my Windows 7 system was in C:\Users\User Name\App Data\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Corporation
Instead of in the Start Up folder.
IMO, there *should* just be a setting where one can opt out of it automatically loading on startup.

In Windows 7, assuming that you ARE NOT using Microsoft Teams in a corporate sharing environment, simply go to Control Panel; Programs And Features. Find 'Microsoft Teams' and uninstall it... Worked like a charm for me.. DONE! What will NOT work is going to the 'typical msconfig or task scheduler, (or startup folder, etc etc) and disabling or deleting the appropriate entry. I'm assuming that Windows 10 is similar but haven't tried it.
