Date Format MS Teams Planner

Frequent Contributor

The date format in MS Teams Planner tab showing by default as mm/dd/yyyy, however, I need in the dd/mm/yyyy and managed to fix it at user level by changing the default language to English (Australia) as per below steps:

How I can change the language to English (Australia) for all users. Our office 365 hybrid environment.

Thanks for your help.

Teams client follows Windows settings in Region & language.

In Windows 10:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click on Time & Language.
  3. Click on Region & language.

@Linus CansbyI am interested in it too, both Planner and Files show MM/DD/YYYY format via Teams client (Teams Version (64-bit). It was last updated on 4/6/19.), but my Country and Region in settings are set correctly. SharePoint Team site also has correct regional settings. Anything else we would be missing?

@Badal Ratra I also have this problem using planner in a teams tab SP site and everything else all set to UK in regional settings

@Linus Cansby

This is incorrect. Planner does not take the region settings from the user's local PC. Teams may do this, but Planner does not.

@locaris Please go to the question for this thread, it was in about changing the date in Teams client for the planner tab in Teams. Not changing date format in Planner web app.

If you change the app language in Teams, the date format for the Planner tab in Teams will change. When you start Teams for the first time it will follow the region settings in Windows.

If you want to you can test by changing app language in Teams yourself and you will see that the date format will change if you have a planner tab in Teams.

@Badal Ratra

I went to the ... beside the Planner name -> Sites -> Site Settings -> Regional settings -> change Locale to English (Australia).
