Is anyone seeing an issue where conversation updates are missing? We have two people, of which I am one, that didn't get a notification that was sent out with an @team in the text from yesterday until we closed (fully closed) Teams on the desktop (one Win7, the other Win10) and reopened. Everyone else in the org that I am aware of got it.

Mine is a laptop but I was here and oneline when it was sent out. The other is a desktop PC and is online 24/7, and the user logs off each night, so Teams had a fresh start yesterday morning.

isn't that about posting new ideas? It literally says "all ideas" in the menu. This is a bug or glitch in existing functionality.

Feedback can be anything so also a bug. If Else you have to create a service request

Im having the same issue. This even happens in the web client. The notification is sent out, but the conversation is not shown. When I force quit the application and restart it, then the new conversations are shown. In the web client I have to log out and back in to see the actual update. Very strange behaviour. 

I get a notification that someone mentioned me and conversations never updates. I haven't had an update since the 25th of July and today is the 30th. I have tried fully closing, logging out, and turning my computer off and on. Nothing works; not the desktop version or the web version.
The only way I can see what someone says is if I look on my phone app, which is kind of obnoxious to have to do.  

Yikes @JESSICA SURDIN. I've never seen it that bad. I can look at my phone and see an update that my desktop shows as a badge count (red circle with number in it) for activty, but the activity thread doesn't show it. But 100% of the time for me, logging off/on to Teams fixes it, and I've only ever seen it happen when I resume my laptop to connect to a network. It never happens during a normal work session.

 

 

Hi Ed, we've been testing Teams for a few weeks now with a group of 20 test users, 2 of the team are experiencing the same issues, messages missing from channels, different data visible on different devices (mobile / web / client).  For me personally some of my channels update, but the majority don't unless I log out and into Teams.  Channels using Webhook Integration are the worst and very rarely update for me yet work fine for everyone else, but the problem isn't limited to channels for some form of connector.

 

I've tried clearing the cache for Teams, uninstall from all devices except one, removal of teams, bots and connector, but the problem still remains.  

 

For me, this issue is making Teams unusable as I can't be sure if I'm missing messages.

 

Do you have any suggestions, possible fixes, or are we just going to have to wait for Microsoft to identify and resolve the problem?   

I think you are just going to have to wait, or open a ticket with MS. I am loathe to do that though as their solution tends to be:

  • restart teams
  • restart your PC
  • clear your Teams cache
  • reinstall teams
  • reinstall windows

And that, of course, doesn't fix it as I've done all of those in the last 6 months for various reasons and I still see the issue.

Hi Ed, I just wanted to let you know that the problem I was experiencing fixed itself over the weekend.  All channels are now updating correctly and almost instantly.  Assume something was updated by MS or something else triggered the fix.  If it was an MS update then hopefully this has also resolved your issues.

Good to hear @Rob Giffin. I haven't seen the issue this week, but my week has been a bit unusual from my normal workflow, and even for the last 6 months when it was happening, it would be fine for 2-3 weeks, then I'd spend a day or so having to Quit/Restart teams to get messages to show up, and even respond from my phone (iOS) which had it but the desktop refused to show it.

So i'll definitely keep an eye out, but for my issue, 5 days of "it works" doesn't mean it is fixed. That is why I am not sure the issue referred to in the Admin panel was related to what I and others have been sporadically experiencing since January.

Hi all, after the recent updates for Teams, that Microsoft has rolled out, this issue seems to be fixed. All channels are updating in the Teams Client and in the Web Version, without the previously reported behaviour. I hope it stays this way :)

What version is it that seemed to fix the issue for you?

My Teams app is currently running 1.1.00.19257 (64 bit) and has been working fine for at least a month.

 

 

Darn, I was hoping it was something different.  Thats what Im running too and I'm missing some threads on my surface book but I can see everything on my desktop.  Maybe it has something to do with us being on the Gov Cloud.  I'll open a ticket.

Just wanted to update what the resolution was on this.  I opened a ticket with Microsoft and they had me delete the client side cache which is located in the AppData directory.  Once the cache was deleted the items that were showing on my desktop disappeared so, in reality, they were really not there.  Not sure where they went to.  I did not delete them but somehow they disappeared.  The only thing I can chalk that up to was that we previously had some issues with items showing in eDiscovery and we had a ticket open to work on that.  Maybe whatever was done on the backend deleted the data.  Since we are not using Teams heavily it was not a big issue but I will monitor to see if other information disappears randomly.

Hello, I have two staff experiencing this as of yesterday, where conversation history in a channel is not visible for them. For one, they can see conversation history in other team channels and for the other, they can see the conversation history in the web app but not in the desktop app. Has there been any further investigation or solution for this issue?

We have one team member that has the conversation tab in their team channels and the thread is blank in the desktop application but they can see it on the mobile app.  Normal procedures (sign out, quit, shut down and re-boot) have not resolved the issue.  Is there anything else we can try?@SharonLehman 

We have 2 users seeing the same issue in the same channel within a team. The entire conversation tab is blank.
