When I open an Excel file in the Microsoft Teams app, and then select to open in Excel, the file gets locked to me for editing. Other users cannot open that same document for co-authoring.
Is this the expected default behavior, and if so is there a setting to change it?

I agree with @Chris Webb, I expect it will be your version of Excel.
If you are using Excel Pro Plus in the semi-annual channel, the one Microsoft recommend for enterprise usage, then Excel doesn't yet support co-editing. I think it's in the next release that comes out in January. It was held back from Semi-Annual for nearly a year.

Good question. I am on the semi-annual channel and I don't have the autosave button.
