I've created a few Wiki's with images, and some work, and some don't. The only way to get an image in a wiki is to copy it to the clipboard and then paste.

Today I was trying to create a page and the image pasted fine and the page saved fine. But when I went back to look at it later, there was just a blue box and an image placeholder similar to what you'd see on a web page with a missing image.

I deleted the box and pasted the images again. Same thing, it look ok unti l left and came back.

Screenshot attached as to how it looks when I go back to edit it.

Any plans on fixing this or acknowledging it is working as designed?

Hi Ed,

I have been testing this to replicate your issue, I am note sure if it has just been luck but if I add an image and then save the wiki by clicking into another section or page then this issue occurs.

However if I click the tick button next to the current section that I am editing then the picture saves fine. I am not sure if this is allways the case or if it was random luck, maybe try this and see if it helps.

Also there is quite a few comments on the Microsoft Teams User Voice page around wiki issues including images, I have up voted some of these and it would be useful if you did too as it helps Microsoft see which issues need to be addressed.

See: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public?query=wiki%20images

I am facing the same problem.  I am starting to use Wiki in Teams and created a document and added screenshots.  All fine.  But as soon as I went back to Conversations, then back again into Wiki, my images were not there.  Instead a gray box (like the images are there somewhere).

If I select the option to Open in Sharepoint, I can get to the section Teams Wiki Data, and I see my screenshots there but that's not where I need them.  I need them in the Wiki page.

I read your response but can't figure out where that tick button that you mention is.

Can you add a screenshot?

Thank you,

If I select the option

I was able to use Copy and Paste to create wiki pages with images.  That works pretty well.  However, when I want to copy out the images in a page, I can right click on the image and select "Copy Image".  This image can then copied to somewhere else on this page.  However, my main purpose is actually moving this image to a new wiki page or use that for my local documentations.  That simply failed and I just got a broken image link when I pasted into a new wiki page.  The only work around will be taking a screenshot and cut off the image again.  This sounds like a problem, what do you think?

I am having this exact same problem.

Yes, I experienced the same issue and believe it is a problem - any copy and paste command should utilize the standard copy and paste functionality, allowing interoperability with all programs. Making a command "Copy Image" available which doesn't actually copy the image to the clipboard does not match user expectations of the command. In order to actually copy the images along with the text, I found that if you open the Teams Wiki Data folder in SharePoint, open the folder named after the channel containing your wiki page, then download the [page].mht file, rename it to [page].html and then open it in a browser, you can actually copy the images to the clipboard and paste them into Word.

I like the Wiki Tab - Rename it and it becomes an easy to update SOP tool.

However images from the snipping tool do not cut, paste or copy to any other section if you need to move them. even to another page or section, let alone word powerpoint etc....

I'm using hosted vsts / azure devops.

I can paste an image into a new page no problem but when I edit an existing file I can not paste an image or attach a file.
