We're looking to replace Webex with Teams but have run into some problems with some browser working and some not. This page has some information but it's 7+ months old and some info I know is out of date:
Does anyone know if there are any updates to the browser compatibility section?
The problem we have is the people we hold meetings/demos with are in corporate office and the users may not have the ability to install software on their computers. This means they can't install the Teams client. The site above says Edge is the only browser fully support and Chrome will support Calling "soon"...
This brings up three questions.
1) Do we know if Chrome supports Calling yet?
2) Do we know if Firefox and/or IE will EVER be supported?
3) What exactly does Calling entail separate from Meetings? We need to be able to setup a Teams meeting, invite an external user, and have them be able to join the meeting without having to install anything on their system since they might not be allowed to.
Edge, Chromium Edge, and Chrome will all work when joining meetings for audio and video and consuming screeensharing etc. If they need to use screen sharing they must download teams client, but to join and consume meetings it works fine via browser and link. Just have to make sure they know to click the "Use web client link" since the desktop one is in your face and front and center which I personally don't like.
