I'm in the proces of migrating from SP2013 to SharePoint online. For our project & groupsites we're going to use Microsoft Teams. Our current sites sometimes have a link list on their homepage that links to a document library on another SharePoint site collection (example: a knowledge centre). At the moment we have 2 possible solutions:

  1. Adding the document library as "Cloud storage" to the files tab
  2. Adding the document library as an extra tab in the General channel

The end-users think that the first option is the best choice. But we have 1 problem with this: we can't rename the "link" to the document library. By default the folder in the Files tab gets the following name: "SharePoint site name_Document Library name" (example: "Contoso Intranet_Presentations). Is there a way to change this?

AFAIK, there is no way of changing that link name at all

I would personally go for number two that is more cutomizable and meets your requirements too
