A Microsoft Stream app for my iOS device
For context I work for a large UK retailer, we are starting to use Office video for our staff visiting stores to record how a store has laid out products to our standards that are then viewed back in head office by the layouts team. Having a super simple experience is critical.
Oh, adding location would be super cool for us, but I can see that might be a rather niche requirement.
The app should be the key priority now. In all honesty, in order to get enagement, we need to make it easy for staff to upload thier videos. I understand thier is the corporate policy element, but this also has uses in other areas such as marketing.
Yep. Stream needs to catch up to the level of features offered by YouTube, etc. to satisfy Office 365 users.
I´m involved in a opportunity with a Education customer and it's quite heavie requierement to have this app. In other case, customer will use another app and platform to manage the Video and content (even Youtube is in customer's radar...)
I wouldn't need this if the web app was usable, but you currently can't copy/paste the Share URL after uploading through the web app in iOS... this bug has existed for over a year now. It seems like an iOS app would be the best way forward though.
I just spoke to some of my customers today who had a great use case for mobile video consumption. They would likely have a link to the video from an email sent to their mobile Outlook, but could be links in Teams or Yammer. I'd love for them to be able to tap those links and watch the videos in an app instead of it launching in the Intune managed browser.
Are there any updates on an iOS app? maybe a preview? I ask because this is something we started testing back in August last year and the current web interface does not allow for a seamless logon using the authenticator, it requires our synced accounts to logon to ADFS and I cant have 700 attorneys typing in passwords in the browser. thats just not user-friendly. either on a windows domain-joined computer or on an Iphone it should be a seamless connection for users since the required authentication mechanics exist on both platforms.
we are testing a 3rd party product, and it would be a shame to do that when we have this capability in those using Teams.
I'm excited to share that we will open an external customer private preview of the Microsoft Stream mobile apps for iOS and Android in several weeks. The apps enable the content on-the-go scenario including support for offline viewing. If you have Stream customers who may be interested in beta testing the apps and sharing their feedback, please have them fill out the form, link below and we will onboard them to our app flighting program: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=v4j5cvGGr0GRqy180BHbR9I2NEwbrTpHrt_esPatqYZUMlhT...
The app needs to support Conditional Access from day 1, otherwise it won't be of any use to companies using Conditional access.
Do we have an update on when this Stream app will be out? I'm interested in the iOS app.
Very interested in having an app that can keep playing content while in the app is in the background / device locked. This will help us with internal interview style podcast content.
At Ignite we were told that the iOS app for Stream would be released in October. Sadly it's almost December and no app. Any updates on when we will get this key functionality?
Unfortunately, we don't have a concrete timeline to share on public availability for the iOS app. We are currently blocked from a public iOS release due to new requirement Apple is imposing on new app submissions around supporting a signup workflow through in-app purchases. We're escalating this blocking issue with Apple to find a near-term solution but until then we don't have a precise timeline to share. We’ll update this article as soon as we have information to share and are working closely with Apple to release as soon as possible. Apologies for the wait and please stay tuned. We will post an update on a timeline as soon as we have one to share.
The Microsoft Stream mobile app for both iOS and Android are now available in the Apple and Google stores.
For more info on the apps and links to the store entries see this help article: https://docs.microsoft.com/stream/mobile-get-apps
