It’s easier than ever to create more visual and immersive experiences for training, learning and communicating.

Beginning this quarter, expanded features in Microsoft Stream give teams a new way to seamlessly add quizzes, forms or polling into training videos. The Forms integration into Microsoft Stream helps to make videos more engaging and interactive for learners, while giving trainers a way to understand how well the information is being comprehended.

This is brilliant! Bringing in many of the features that were so valued by educators in Office Mix. How will the analytics look? Do you duck into the Forms "Responses" page and also drill down to the Stream analytics or …?

Copper Contributor

Excellent!

This is very cool and look forward to trying it. However there are more important fundermental feature we need to seriously deploy Stream - like Playlists! Otherwise there's no way of organising videos within channels! This is our biggest hurdle for using this service.

These sound like great features. Are there help links to explain how to use them?

Brass Contributor

When in Feb will this be available. Teacher's at our school sites are already asking for it.

Iron Contributor

Excellent. With these features, Microsoft Stream is one step closer to be used as an LMS in businesses. We need advanced analytics to support this new feature set.

We never stop asking for more features!! :)

Iron Contributor

any updates @Christina Torok ?

Former Employee

Stream is targeting general availability of this feature in March!

Brass Contributor

Great feature, looks forward to try it.

But please Microsoft, give us an option to organize videos with a playlist.

How do I seamlessly embed Stream videos in PowerPoint?

Copper Contributor

Hello @Christina Torok

When will this be available in Stream?

I have tried reaching out via Twitter (@microsoftstream) to no avail. Hoping someone will get back to me on this platform instead.

Copper Contributor

@Christina Torok

I'm really looking forward to the Stream-Forms integration. Since we are well past the first quarter anticipated rollout, can we get an updated timeline?

Copper Contributor

Really disappointed that there's been no further update on this, we would be making wide use of it and it would really help us sway the remaining doubters over the value of our Office365 investment. Really confused why it would be announced and then just radio silence......

Microsoft

Hi all - thanks for all the excitement around this feature. We are working hard to get this feature deployed to all regions in the coming weeks. Look out for a blog post to announce the availability of this feature!

Brass Contributor

Thanks Archana. Badly need this feature. Hoping to see this early next month.

Brass Contributor

I'd love to see the ability to separate questions from a single Form into different locations within a stream!

If this is already being discussed elsewhere, please provide a link.

Microsoft

Jeff - that is definitely an ask we hear very often and something we are looking into. I am also looping in @Zhongzhong Li from Microsoft Forms as FYI.

Brass Contributor

I did run across this person inquiring, also.

As a K-12 Instructional Technology Specialist, this would be a great tool for providing flipped training to our Middle and High School teachers to ensure understanding of specific steps.

Hi

Can someone from Microsoft please update me when how to embed Stream Videos in PPT.  Your roadmap says this launched in Q3 CY2019 - However I am still getting error messages in PPT when I try this.

"Powerpoint can't insert a video from this embed code.  Try a different embed code or use a different website."

For reference this is the embed code I am trying to use....

<iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://web.microsoftstream.com/embed/video/9aa4f231-61d9-43cf-9977-dd4320676969?autoplay=false&amp;..." allowfullscreen style="border:none;"></iframe>

Thank you,

Wiet

Steel Contributor

@Wiet_Pruim it works for me.

(1) In PowerPoint in Office 365 ProPlus Version 2001 Click "Insert" -> "Video" -> "Online Video..."

(2) In Stream in your browser, locate the video you want to insert, click on "Share" and copy the "Direct link to video"

(3) In PowerPoint, paste the link you copied and click "Insert"

Microsoft

@Wiet_Pruim it looks like you’re trying to paste the entire embed code into PPT. @Philemon Burney is right - it’ll work if you paste in the video URL just by itself. We will look into updating the error messaging to make that more clear.

Copper Contributor

I have created a video via Stream and created the quizzes via Forms and have integrated everything.  However, here is my dilemma; I need for the quizzes at the specific time to stop the video and display the quiz questions automatically without the user's input of having to click the Form name in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.  Can this be done?

Iron Contributor

@tttillman when you add a form to the video, you have an option called position on timeline. Based on the timestamp here, the quiz will appear within the video frame. see screenshot below.

Copper Contributor

Thank you @Jag Kakarlapudi , I saw that.  However, what I am trying to do force the video to stop and display the form automatically.  The way it is now, the user has the option not to click the form link and simply allow the video to continue uninterrupted.  Do you know if what I am asking is available?  I sure hope it is.  =)

Microsoft

@tttillman If I'm understanding your ask correctly - that's how the feature has been designed. Can you try adding a form at the very beginning of  video (like 5 seconds in) and refresh/watch the video without seeking and tell us if the form displays directly?

If you're still having issues - message me directly and I can a thread going via email.

Microsoft

@tttillman the video does pause and display the form - but only the first time it's played back. This was done primarily to not disrupt playback experience for people that have already seen the form once. The subsequent times, we'll just show you a button on the bottom letting u know there is form, and it's up to the user to open if they want to revisit it. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if you need any help or further clarification. Thanks!

Copper Contributor

I am working with this feature "Interactivity" in MS Stream, but I have attendees from different countries, so wonder if MS Form has the feature to create multilingual quizzes to connect with MS Stream "Interactivity".   I know that I can upload subtitles into MS Stream (great!), but if the Quizzes will be in only one language, my videos will lose engagement at the end of the day.  thank you in advance for your comments and orientation.

Copper Contributor

Hello,
Can someone please help, the interactivity tab is missing. I wanted to add Microsoft forms to it. Is there a way to get it?

I really need it for training purposes.

Thanks.
