SharePoint email notifications help you stay up-to-date with news, comments, and activities. We’ve recently announced notifications for comments, replies and likes on modern pages and news posts.

We know you want to control what lands in your inbox. Currently, you can unsubscribe from a category of notifications by clicking the Unsubscribe link in a notification email.

Email notifications settings panel

The email notifications settings panel, rolling out in late June 2019, enables you to manage all your email notifications from a single place. You can select the categories of email notifications you want to receive.

To access the email notifications settings panel, click the Manage your preferences link in a notification email.

Alternately, click SharePoint in the Office launcher (also known as the “waffle menu”). From the SharePoint start page, click the settings cog, then click Email notifications

As we add new categories of notifications, we will add them to the settings panel.

I just saw the news about getting emails about likes or comments on your SharePoint posts, and instantly I thought, I wish there was a way I can control what gets emailed to me. I wouldnt want to get emailed about the likes I get, but comments may be useful.

My wish was just fulfilled (or will be fulfilled in June!!).

Next wish, I wish there was a way to control the frequency of the emails I receive. Maybe just once daily or a couple of times a week would be enough.

Is it also planned that site owners can enable these email options for all site members? We got the question whether owners have the option to do it for their members? Just for remark, I know the current "Alert me" option.

Please add option to send to Teams Activity feed, instead of e-mail :).

@Chris , you can add in the SharePoint News app on teams which shows notifications in the Conversations tab for News from the site. It would be good if MS can extend that app to allow configurations to select which sites' news is shown.

@Krishant Lodhia  that only gives you news posts, I'm talking about @mentions , replies etc. get that mention in Teams, so you can click on it and direct to the page with the reply etc. Even better if you could interact with the content inline, but that would probably require a lot of work, I'd be happy with just a link :).

@Chris Webb ahh I see what you mean. That would be cool if MS could integrate like that. Is there a way to integrate this using a SharePoint Extension with a webhook into Teams?

Will the email notifications settings panel be available in June for all users or only site owners or editors?

Also, the "Digest of News Posts I Missed" sounds amazing! What is the trigger or logic behind it and how frequently does it send? Will it take News posts from communities a user follows?
