Microsoft is a leading member of AIIM, the industry consortium focusing on challenges and opportunities with information and content for organizations large and small.

Over the past few years industry analysts have observed this shift from classic Enterprise Content Management to “Content Services”.  We’ve previously discussed this shift and how we are reflecting this evolution in Office 365, OneDrive  and SharePoint.

John Mancini, AIIM’s Chief Evangelist has just published a study, commissioned in part by Microsoft, about the impact of this change on the entire industry.   John’s always been at the forefront of where technology is headed, and his new paper will help you understand this shift.  As he notes,

“…ECM is an insufficient term to describe all of the “content-y” things people are doing, how they are approaching them, and all the different flavors of content solutions that exist to solve very different problems.  What organizations are doing with content has outgrown the traditional definitions.”

John’s new study is available now, free of charge, from this link.  The Next Wave: Moving from ECM to Intelligent Information Management.   Please enjoy it with our compliments, and join the discussion here on the TechCommunity.  Thank you.
