Is there any documentation on what the managed browser is based on? Is it a mobile version of Edge, IE, or something else entirely? My app dev area wants to test with it and is asking questions about it.

Solution

This is what it says from this article - Success with Enterprise Mobility: Managed Browser:

"The Intune browser is built using the platform framework, and it uses the same rendering engine as Safari for iOS and Google Chrome for Android."

Does that help at all?

Yes! That's just what I was looking for, thank you very much.
