Enjoy your night in Universal Studios Florida™, the world’s premier movie and TV based theme park.  You can climb aboard Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit™ roller coaster, plunge into darkness on Revenge of the Mummy™, and experience the thrilling TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D.   Then board the Hogwarts™ Express from King’s Cross Station in London and head next door to Universal’s Islands of Adventure™ for cutting-edge rides and attractions, like The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man® and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™.  The train will be making continuous round-trips throughout the evening.

The Celebration will feature something for everyone!  Chill out at one of the lounges, test your limits on plenty of cutting edge rides or get up close and personal and go behind the scenes of some of your favorite movies!  Throughout both parks you will find an exciting variety of dining options featuring unlimited food and beverages.  Convenient food carts stocked with quick bites to grab, buffets and bars in the streets and themed dining venues provide options for everyone!  Don’t forget to cool down with a frozen Butterbeer™!

How awesome is this!!  You guys really know how to throw a party!!  Looking forward to meeting a bunch of new friends at #Ignite!

It includes Harry Potter, too? Ugh...don't tell my kids.

Just a shot in the dark question...do Microsoft offer any of the attendees discount 1 Day tickets or any type of tickets to DisneyWorld parks?  Thanks

Regular Visitor

I just saw that they sold out on companion passes.  If anyone has one that they cannot use let me know as my wife now wants to join the fun...!  I don't know how the re-assignment works on that though.

Occasional Contributor

Urgh - I didn't realise they would sell out as I missed the rest of the thread. Is there a wait list to get added to for any cancellations for this please?

Frequent Visitor
I'm looking for a pass as well since they are sold out. Anyone?
New Contributor
Sign me up for one looking for a pass also if anyone is knowingly not going. Thanks

@MS_Ignite Com'on Microsoft. Really. You limited the number of attendees to the Ignite Celebration and sold out. Not only did you limit it to one companion pass per fully registered conference pass (and 21+) but you do not allot enough for everyone to have a chance to bring a guest.  You reserved two entire theme parks. Surely there is enough room to accommodate any attendee that wants to bring one guest. I understand that you estimate over 20k attendees this year but with two parks full of rides, entertainment and social meetups there should be plenty of room to allow more guests to attend.  Authorize more passes please… #MSIgnite #IgnitePartyCrasher #DisapointedAttendee

Hi all. My wife surprised me with time off and will be in Orlando. Looking to purchase a companion pass from anyone that may have one available that they will not be using anymore. This should be a blast, as it was previously. Thanks all.
New Contributor

There are always people that won't be staying for the party...just keep your ears/eyes open during the week.  Also the vendors get a pass, so chat them up and see who is staying and leaving...

Occasional Contributor

Nicely done! Looking forward to it! :-) see you all in Orlando

So much for companion passes, sold out. If anyone can't go let me know, looking for one.

Far cry from the faux camping excursion last year in Atlanta. Good job guys! :)

I really liked the camp theme last year, much better than SPC2014 where I didn't attend the party due to transportation cluster... and Ignite2015 which was nice but too too too loud. Though, they got really lucky weather wise in Atlanta.

Universal seems awesome and special.

You made my wife's day by saying there will be Butterbeer! Probably her favorite drink ever! Looking most forward to the new Tonight Show ride and of course enjoying the Harry Potter attractions!

Regular Visitor

@Raymond Chow and anyone else looking to purchase Disney Park tickets. Yes, MS posted this link as a twitter reply earlier in the month. There aren't discounts on a 1 day ticket but you can purchase after 2pm or after 5pm tickets as well as discounted 2-day+ tickets.

I need a companion pass if anyone has a connection for me?  My wife is coming with me to Orlando and back in March when I booked the registration there wasn't an option for a companion pass.  I'd appreciate it greatly if you can assist.   Thanks.  Gary

FYI, there's a conversation started for people looking for Companion Passes on the main Ignite Conversations section...  https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Ignite-Conversations/Companion-Pass-for-Attendee-Ce...

New Contributor

I am new to Ignite this year and had no idea about the Companion Pass, which are showing as sold out.  Is there any additional way to get a Companion Pass, or will there be additional passes offered with an increase in interest by chance?  I am quite disappointed I didn't know about this at the time of registration :-(

New Contributor

Going to be a great experience !!

Contributor

This is SO amazing. Thank you Microsoft! I am so excited I might die!

New Contributor

Sounds like it will be fun for those who took the passes. This is my first Ignite experience and even though the site said one per eligible attendee, there where none left. Looks like my first experience will not be what I am hearing it will be for others. Having to find something else to do with my companion instead. Sad…off to rocky start for a first timer.

New Contributor

@Denise Rivera, each attendee gets a pass to party.  There were only a limited number of companion passes available; there was no guarantee that everyone could bring a companion.  Don't let the lack of a companion pass ruin your first Ignite experience.  If you choose not to go to the Ignite party on Thursday, there are plenty of people who would be willing to pay you in cash for your pass.  There are a TON of things to do in Orlando.  If you need ideas, PM me.

@Frederick Dorado It would be nice if you could share your recommendations here. We also plan our "side program" and we would be thankful for any tips. Looking forward to see you guys all on the rollercoaster ;-).

New Contributor

@Christian Haller, it really depends on what you're into.  Obviously, the Disney parks are an option; it looks like they're open until 9PM.  If you like sing-along piano bars, Howl At The Moon on International Drive is a great place.  Universal City Walk also has tons of great bars, clubs and restaurants.  If you're getting to Orlando early (or staying late) and you're looking for other thrill rides, Busch Gardens in Tampa has great roller coasters.  A side trip to Kennedy Space Center is also a great option.  Enjoy!!

Like others, I am frustrated about the Companion Pass situation. Surely the size of the theme parks could easily accommodate more guests as already noted. Hopefully I can find a pass for my girl :/

Microsoft should stop offering companion passes. It's an attendee celebration.

>Surely the size of the theme parks could easily accommodate more guests

I've been to Universal Orlando a couple times. Yes, the parks can accomodate many more thousands of guests than the numbers of MS Ignite attendees. But that also assumes those guests are in the parks all day and expect to wait in lines for rides (often for more than an hour).  Waiting in long lines is not feasible (nor desirable) with just an evening event. So, the numbers must be capped so as to allow those actually in attendance to have quick access to ride during the relatively short event time period.

The Universals website also shows ticket sales on the 28th for Horror Nights.   If the park is reserved for Ignite how is this possible or am I missing something ??     Don't get me wrong I'd love it if we also were doing Horror Nights along side.   Anyone know?

Occasional Visitor

@Miguel Sanabia It looks like you might have been looking at the schedule for Universal Hollywood rather than Orlando... http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/orlando/tickets.php

This has unfortunately landed me in hot water, because I hadn't gone out of my way to check the blog. This was posted July 12th, and yet email's weren't sent until Juy 27th? Maybe just mine? It would have been nice if this had been included in the conference registration process.

Either way, I am also looking to purchase a companion pass, if someone finds themselves with an extra.

Contributor

@Bob Post  ... Wow you are spot on and makes perfect sense as I failed to check location.  Duh to me.  Thanks for the feedback Bob.

looking forward to Ignite and fun at Universals with everyone.   Enjoy!

I live in Orlando and have a Universal annual pass. Do we have to take the shuttle from the OCCC to Universal or will we be allowed to park at Universal ourselves for this event?

New Contributor

I think you can get there any way you want to.  The shuttle is just a convenience.  You just need your wristband.

Occasional Visitor

Is it too late to get a companion pass for the celebration at Universal on Thursday night? I don't see it as an option when log into the registration site and select "Passes".

Thanks!

I am looking for companion pass for the celebration event.  If anyone is looking to sell one, or has info on where to get one, I would appreciate any info.  Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,

I am also looking for the companion pass. I would like to have 3 but will work with 2. I am able to pay 50.00 each, cash.

Going away after the conference with my family and this would be a nice way to kickoff the family vacation. Thanks in Advance.

I wasn't given a party wrist band when I received my conference badge today.  Did anyone else receive one?

I´m looking for two companion pass for the celebration event.  If anyone is looking to sell it, or has info on where to get it, I´ll appreciate.  Thanks in advance! danyuvm at gmail . com

@dagonryan- this year the conference badge will also be used as a pass to attendee party

Looking for a companion pass!  If someone is willing to part with one, I would like to talk!  Thanks!  czambito@gmail.com  czambito at gmail.com

Looking for a companion pass for my wife. Happy to pay current going rates. Feel free to pm me if you are not planning to attend. Thanks in advance.

Occasional Visitor

Does anyone happen to know if they're going to be comparing IDs to ignite badges at the attendee celebration? I can get my hands on another badge to get my girlfriend in - but don't know if this is a waste of time since it's not a companion pass and her name will not match the name on the badge.

Can children get in with a parent?

Occasional Visitor

Is this open for envision participants  ?

Visitor

Are day pass holders eligible to attend the celebration? There seems to be some conflicting information from the Microsoft individuals at Ignite.

All full conference and booth staff registrations for Microsoft Ignite include admission to the Microsoft Ignite Celebration.

Occasional Contributor

I'm still looking for a pass if anyone has one available to rent for the night please?

Anyone scared of the dark, too cool to go to the party, doesn't like rides or had too much to drink last night and will never, ever do that again??

Thanks,

Andy

Came to the convention with my husband who is the Microsoft attendee and was looking forward to the Universal Celebration only to learn that all guest passes were sold out. I am prepared to purchase a full priced ticket so that I can attend. Can this be done?

How does the transportation to Universal Work?
