MSIX VS MSI

i want to know the use case for MSI and MSIX.

i have 100+ application in our environment. i know both can be used for enterprise deployment.

can i go ahead and convert each one of the application in MSIX? 

What are the drawbacks of MSIX? 

is there any documentation as which all applications are supported in MSIX format?

In chapter 3 from my MSIX introduction guide you can find listed all the resources supported inside an MSIX package. In the same chapter there is also a link to MSFT docs that specify the resources which are not compatible with MSIX packaged apps.

http://aka.ms/msix has docs as well on moving to MSIX.  Any format can be converted to MSIX.  Right now we do not support drivers and apps with services will work starting in 20H1.  Everything else requires 1709 and later OS.
