shifts.jpgThis morning, as is often the case, I received a question by way of my LinkedIn account. The question concerned Shifts in Microsoft Teams. For those not familiar with Shifts it is a powerful service integrated into Microsoft Teams that facilitates shift scheduling, emergency coverage, and more for frontline workers. By wrapping the service in Microsoft Teams it becomes part of a holistic offering that facilitates all modes of pertinent collaboration in a extensible, scalable, solution. The question was as follows: “Any videos for end users or managers regarding the Shifts in Teams feature?

Below I have compiled a listing of resources for end users, managers, as well as IT staff along the use and management of Shift in Microsoft Teams. I hope you find them useful and start on your own journey to leveraging the power of this Office 365 integrated service with your own organization. Also, as you have questions for your organization around the use of Shifts don’t hesitate to reach out to your local account team from Microsoft as they can line you up with the appropriate resources to learn and learn Shifts.

Is there any way for connecting my tenant ( optanesystems.com ) to Microsoft partner network team members who can officially join as a team to make people get angaged securely as an MPN via teams and connected apps of my o365 subscription. ( I think a colaboration may avoid risks of some uncertainities as an MPN as I am just a network member without competancy and wish so much to attain through sales service or provisioning with the help of authorised persons to avoid all sort of risks in illiteracy of users. Thanks. Anil Parli (5216225). anilparli@optanesystems.com India, Kerala. @Mike Gannotti

@thesmilingguru  A LOT that could be said here and short answer is a number of ways to approach but.... I would highly recommend contacting your Microsoft Account Team to schedule a session, possibly with a local Microsoft Technology Center. Also, if there are specific type of deep dive events that you would like to see, that may address such topics I recommend you fill out our survey here

LOVE this article! Was also really excited about the Ignite 2019 MS Teams announcement of Give your Firstline Workers easier access to Teams by using SMS sign in. I think this will be a game changer for international users, as well as in the US. I think this will be one of many features that will position Teams as a go to First-line workers application. Similar to other applications as well, this could help organizations to not have to double pay for duplicate applications.

Hi,

I'm wondering if it's possible to not show a staff member that has requested time off, or is booked into another shift in the people picker when adding team members to a shift?  I can book a team member into a shift when they have an approved time-off request.  I would like this person's name to not show in the drop-down.

thank you

Hi @cachtermeier Not that I am aware of. That would be a great feature to submit to User Voice https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/36560350-recurring-shifts
