I'm currently doing some studies in the evenings while at work and my current masters studies include an important part regarding diversity in working environments. Regarding those studies I'm quite interested in trying to understand more in detail how the "new" digitalized environment impacts on how diversity shows itself when using tools like Skype, Teams, Yammer etc. Now that the face-to-face interactions are done less and less - will diversity bring those benefits that the previous studies show? Most studies that I have found focus mainly on face to face interactions but how the "new" tools impact that? Will they increase the benefits or decrease? Will people be themselves more or less when using chat / skype / video than in face to face encounters?
Has anyone read any good research papers lately regarding that aspect? I would really appreciate any links towards any research studies. Are there any? Perhaps Microsoft has done some research as they build these tools for us J
Ps. Great community about super important topic now that the world is closer together than ever.
