Rollup 7 never was released on WSUS or MU right?

When will this be released?

Answering my own question - 7 was not released, this is out on WSUS and MU as of Patch Tuesday as it has a security release in it.

Is anybody tested/patched  with Rollup 8 ?

Extremely slow update. Have been updating the server now for almost two hours and still not finished.

The patch is beeing installed thru Windows Update.

Found an article in Experts Exchange that is describing the same issue. Seems like it has stopped responding.

The update took two and a half hour to complete.

Across my entire platform (Exchange 2007 SP3 RU6, 4xCAS, 3xHUB, 2xCCR MBX Pairs, 3xMBX), one server (CAS) experienced the slowness issues described above where it was taking exceedingly long, and it resulted in an abnormally long outage on that CAS.

It took approximately 3.5 hours to process the update on a HP BL460c G5.

Installed this update on my CAS/HUB servers and it broke OWA, similar to the same issue installing SP1 RU8. Running updateowa.ps1 does not resolve the issue.

For those of you experiencing installation delays, did you attempt the following:

Start Internet Explorer.

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.

Click the Advanced tab, and then locate the Security section.

Click to clear the Check for publisher’s certificate revocation check box, and then click OK.

After the update rollup installation is complete, turn on the Check for publisher’s certificate revocation option.

Fresh install with RU placed in updates directory fails during Copy Exchange Files stage. It says that it can't find a file within the *.asp file in the updates directory.  Says it may be caused by file corruption or network issues.  Installing from local drive still fails.  Attempt after re-downloading the SP and RU still resulted in failure.  Removal of RU from updates directory and then install proceeded OK.  But now I need to do the update separately and maybe wait 2+ hours for it to complete.

I have installed the Ru8 for Exch2k7 Sp3 on my Clustered Exchange enviroment.

I first  installed it on my CAS servers  and than installed it on my inactive  MTA node.

After the installation on the inactive node this server a mesage diplayed it needed to reboot.

Checking the exchange version I found that  my CAS server had nicely been upgraded

Server                                                AdminVersion                                         ExchangeVersion

------                                                ------------                                         ---------------

mbx                                                  Version 8.3 (Build 83.6)                             8.3.264.0

ENODC1                                           Version 8.3 (Build 83.6)                             8.3.279.3

ENODC2                                           Version 8.3 (Build 83.6)                             8.3.279.3

after that I faild over my Cluster  and upgraded the last node.

This ran without but it did not ask for the expected reboot.

I checked the services and saw that none of the exchange services where started.

I than rebooted the server  and after that all services came up again.

I chscked all functions for exchange and all are working as expected.

Strange thing is that when I checked the version again, the MBX still showed the old version....

Is there some step I missed.

I know that for SP1 and two  you needed to give the axtra command "setup.com /upgradecms"

but this is not available for this rollup

I too can confirm issues with OWA after installing the patch.  Various errors when moving in between mail items or when trying to send an email.  Uninstalling the patch seemed to resolve the issue.

Also, I had issues uninstalling the patch.  Took forever to uninstall as well similar to the issues others had installing the patch.  Fix for me was to stop any Forefront for Exchange services running on the machine.  Patch was fairly quick after that.

Greetings all.

I did the usual fscutility /enable and fscutility /disabled and I had no issues, installed in under 30 minutes on G5 Proliant Servers.

Good luck

i am currently on rollup6. do i need to update to rollup 7 first before installing rollup 8?

@terrance: Starting with Exchange 2007, we moved to service packs + cumulative update rollups. Update rollups are cumulative - RU8 contains all updates included in previous rollups.

Servicing Exchange 2007 has more info.
