using defined names

If I have a list of abbreviations and their full name in the 2nd column I can use the name manager to create names

Example
TBA To Be Announced
LOL Laugh out Loud

If I type =LOL in cell it shows Laugh out Loud like I want it to.

But if I have LOL in cell H3 and in cell H2 I have =H3 it shows LOL and not Laugh out Loud.

I thought indirect might work, but it doesn't seem to.

Any ideas?

If you simple have a text LOL in cell H3, considering LOL is a defined named range which refers to a cell containing the test Laugh out Laugh, you may use the following formula in H2...

=INDIRECT(H3)

And this will return Laugh out Laugh.

You are correct. I was able to get it work for text, but I am trying to get it to work for images. Any ideas?  I attached a sample.
