auto fill on only one part of the formula

Copper Contributor

Hi all,

I am re-doing an excel sheet and i have a formula that looks like this =(3.05*$G$5) the "3.05" is the cost of the item, which means each row under that has a different cost. I need to change the formula to pull from a different cell, instead of G5, i need it to pull from E2. That is the only change I want.

How do I update the formula on the entire column without having to manually type a different cost on each cell?

Thanks,

Hello @LinaVal,

Select the cells with the formulas, then use Find and Replace (Ctrl + H). Make sure to look in formulas and replace $G$5 with $E$2.
