Question about copying a formula in Excel

Copper Contributor

I am trying to copy a simple formula in excel but need the formula to change as I copy (and paste) it. The formula is (AG22/255)*T60. I know Excel will "follow" the sequences if I highlight a series of numbers in a cell and then drag into a corresponding series of cells (using the + sign in the lower right hand corner).

But when I attempt to do the same thing with the formula, both of my variables change in the formula (and I only need 1 to change).

So in the formula listed above, I need the sequence to repeat as (AG22/255)*T60, (AG23/255)*T60, etc.

Any ideas on how to only change 1 variable and not both?

To do that, make the T60 as an absolute reference so that it doesn't change when you copy it down or across.

=(AG22/255)*$T$60
