Problem with formatted absolute cell value losing formatting

Hi there, please can someone help?

 I'm using an absolute cell reference, but the formatting doesn't carry over... copy/paste? yes, but =acr as the result of an arithmetic function, no. (Excel 2013)
Any help/suggestions much appreciated.
