Pivot Table or simple filter and count?

Mark O'Mahoney

Hi,

I am struggling to count a 'word' using Pivot table. I need to see the number of 'very important' across 5 different columns. I thought I could do this via pivot table but it doesn't seem to be showing me values. I am looking for a quick solution via Pivot rather than a filter and manually count as I will need to do this for a bigger excel document afterwards.

I am sure there is a very easy solution - if anyone could help I would be very grateful!

Thanks,

Mark

How about a formula like the attached ?

Hi Wyn, this formula is perfect. I'm not sure if this is possible via a pivot so a simple formula works. Many thanks!

Great, no it's not possible with a pivot
