How Do You Format a Time Period?

Occasional Visitor

I need to format a time period rather than a period in time. That is, I need to be able to represent something like ten minutes without it being referenced to a date and/or time of day like: "1/10/1900 12:10:00 AM". I just want to add time periods together to get a total time period, like:

0:20 + 0:50 = 1:10

Can this be done without bending over backwards algorithmically?

Depends on where is your time, in cells or within the formula
