Hi,
I have a data range (dates) in one worksheet that tracks the date of the event. I want to summarise, by month/ Year, on a separate worksheet.
However, I quite fancy NOT using explicit ranges so I can change a cell to the correct year (e.g. 2019), and it looks up the month and counts the number of events that occurred.
Any thoughts welcome?

You may do that by Pivot Table, please see attached

Thank you - I must have completely formula blinkered not to think about pivots! :o
