Excel formula help

Copper Contributor

I would like to search to find values in quite a few excel sheets and have the search result cells highlighted in a colour for visual recognition.  Is this possible?    My situation is that I have a number of work books each with multiple sheets and these cells represent the position within my plant nursery of all the special plants I have, each pot with an identification number stencilled on it.  I was hoping to be able to search my work books and add a colour to the sheet cells so it would make locating a particular pot easy by visual means.  I have tried using the find feature under "find & select" and it is fine in that it returns the various cell positions in list form but was wondering about the added feature of colouring the particular excel cells?

cheers for any help

Nick

Hi Nick,

You may use Find & Replace, in "Replace with" is the same string as in Find,  in "Format" for the "Replace with" change format as you'd like to highlight. In options "Within" choose workbook and Replace All after that.

Hello Sergei

This worked a treat.  Thanks for taking the time to help a novice out.
