Date Formatting

I am trying to enter a date in a cell on excel. However, the cell is taking the date that I have entered as a formulae and converting it to 01/01/1900 the moment I press enter. How do I stop this?

@DeletedHi Nikita, it may have to do with how the cell(s) are formatted. I use the option (obtained by right-clicking on it/them): Format Cells... -> Custom -> dd/mm/yyyy (but this is mainly used in the UK).

Hope this helps. Tony
