When running a Power Pivot/Power Query in Microsoft Excel 2016/365, I run into the this error below:
"The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open." (Attached is a screenshot of the error I see)
When I add the Power Query data to a table in Excel, I do not see this error, but when I try to add the data to the Data Model, this error appears.
This error also appears when I try to add data to the data model from Access. I have tried disabling the .CUB and .XML from my anti virus, but I still get this error.
I tried adding an screenshot to this question, but it will not let me.
Thank you

On the forums people say that's due to antivirus, in particular Trend Micro Officescan. Try to disable it for a while and check if helps. For example
https://forum.powerpivotpro.com/forums/topic/power-pivot-refresh-error/
and some other, you may google for more.

Hi Sergei,
Cool, thanks for the help!
I'm gonna send this file to my IT department 'cause I don't have the privileges for making that change ... :(

In my case it turned out to be Teams. Once I unloaded Teams, the problem went away. I read several articles that said it was antivirus, blocked files, need to reboot....but in the end the only thing that caused and cured the problem was having Teams running. Once I shut that down, it worked like a champ.

@LloydWitt , thanks for the sharing. Never heard Teams causes such conflict
