I have a pretty basic task that I'm sure Excel can do for me, but I'm a total amateur and need some help figuring it out.
I have two excel sheets that are being generated from different programs - both have records of ticket sales to the same event from different databases. Ideally they match, but I'm supposed to reconcile them to each other to make sure.
One excel spreadsheet has them listed in rows and columns of date, name, memo, and amount. The other has them listed by name and amounts, but they're in multiple different columns (there are different groupings based on the kind of ticket they purchased - it looks visually like separate tables, but they aren't actual excel tables).
Is there any way for me to be able to compare values from the first spreadsheet (without necessarily an exact match, like the last name) and highlight matches with the different cells in the second sheet?
