Charting activity time duration in excel

Copper Contributor

Hi - I'm trying to chart activity duration in excel that's been calculated from start and end times on a given day.

The duration column is formatted as hh:mm from the custom field format. However, when I turn it into an area chart, the y axis which is the duration (x axis is activity) is shown as the actual time and not the duration, despite being formatted as hh:mm. I've even tried  formatting the y axis as both time and custom and it still shows the time of day rather than duration. Any help much appreciated!!

Hi Richard,

Better if you attach some sample file. However, did you try format duration as elapsed time [hh]:mm ?

Hi Sergei - thanks for your idea. Sample data attached and see the random y axis values?

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Richard

Hi Richard,

If you mean y-axis units you may define major one manually, let say as 0.0833333 which is equal to 2 hours

That's great Sergei - thank you very much!
