A calculation bug for Excel?

Copper Contributor

Hi, I would like to report a bug occurred with my excel. Would very much like to know if others experience the same.

Open a new spreadsheet

Type 9.83 on A1

Type 9.03 on B1

Type =A1-A2 on C1, and it returns 0.8

Type 0.8 on C2

Type =C1=C2, and it returns FALSE (!!)

I type =LEN(C1) on D1, it returns 17 (??)

Then I type =LEN(C2) on D2, it returns 3

Not sure it is the reason the numbers do not match.

The interesting thing is it does not happen to all numbers, but only several numbers. I tried 9.83/9.73/9.63 they all have 17 digits. Then on 9.53 it returns to the correct number of digit.

Please enlighten me if I have any wrong steps. Many thanks!!

Joshua
