If you are a Configuration Manager 2007 customer, we recognize you might have concerns about the impact of recent changes to Microsoft Update. These changes were introduced by either the application of the WSUS update KB 2734608 , or by back-end Microsoft Update processes.

For many Configuration Manager 2007 customers, this resulted in redownloading and redistributing a large number of updates.

To minimize further impact, we have released a hotfix that will prevent software updates displaying as invalid.

While Microsoft has temporarily halted the changes to Microsoft Update, they will continue on December 11, 2012. Even if you have already redownloaded software updates, you could be impacted by additional changes in December. We strongly suggest you install the following hotfix immediately to ensure compatibility with future changes in December.

KB 2783466 : Software updates are displayed as invalid unexpectedly in the Administrator Console in System Center Configuration Manager 2007

This fix applies to all Configuration Manager 2007 primary and secondary site servers.

System Center 2012 Configuration Manager is not affected by these changes to Microsoft Update.
