Pinned Edge App links to Chrome instead of Edge

Iron Contributor

I installed a website as an App. Then pinned the app to the taskbar on Windows 10. When clicking on the app on the taskbar, I get cannot find chrome_proxy.exe. Looking at the properties of the shortcut, I see it is referencing Chrome path in the file system instead of Edge.

On fixing the paths in the shortcut to Edge, the app works correctly.

Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge Dev\Application\msedge_proxy.exe"

Start in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge Dev\Application"

After uninstalling Chrome I am unable to recreate this issue.
This is a fantastic Idea!!!

Hopefully this multi-step process will be replaced by the reintroduction of the Pin to Taskbar feature of classic Edge.@CodeDJ

Thank you letting us know about this issue, @CodeDJ. I will forward this feedback on to the right people.

@Elliot Kirk I haven't been able to pinpoint the cause. I had Chrome installed at the time of installing the app from EdgeDev. Either Edge incorrectly pinned using Chrome settings or Chrome tookover the pinned links and modified it to point to chrome_proxy. Didn't realize the pinned app was running using Chrome until I uninstalled Chrome. Thanks!
