Microsoft Edge Preview (Dev/ Canary Channel) Black Login Screen

My two download get the same black screen on login.

So I can't login anymore, I already try to reinstal, but not working.

This issue should be resolved as of the more recent updates.

@v-gapartNot fixed yet. Login from new profile -> plain black screen.

You might need to create a new profile by moving the old one to the desktop.

I would like for you to move the Default folder out of User data, so Microsoft Edge Dev creates a new profile.

  1. Press Win + R keys to open up the Run dialog box.
  2. Type %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Edge Dev\User Data and press enter.
  3. Move the Default folder to Desktop.
  4. Launch Microsoft Edge Dev.  That will create a new default folder.

The internet connectivity is alright. All of the services are launched if that matters.

The login page that you are seeing does not only belong to the Edge insider, all of the apps on Windows 10 that need to sign into the Microsoft account use the same procedure, (apps like Email, Your phone, Xbox etc etc). it's using the Windows 10's webview system which is based on the old Edge. I think the problem is not related to the new Microsoft Edge but rather about your Windows installation.
