@HotCakeX  As I understand it, EdgeChromium will be released in January as an application that can be installed on Windows rather than as an update to Windows, so I don't see a conflict between Windows 7 EOL on January 14 and releasing EdgeChromium for Windows 7 on January 15.

We'll see what happens, but it would have been a remarkable waste of resources, even for Microsoft, to have put the effort into developing EdgeChromium for Windows 7 knowing that it would not be released.

Yes it's technically possible but it goes against their own policy, end of life and then release software for that OS? that sends mixed signals to everyone.

in Microsoft's view (and in reality Tbh), end of life means no one should use that OS anymore for their own good. no security patch is going to be released for that OS, it's risky. so releasing new software for it, specially if it comes from Microsoft, the same company who discourages people from using that OS, will be confusing for everyone.
