Edge Canary for Mac Installer refuses to install

Copper Contributor

Hello,

So I downloaded the new Edge Canary version for Mac OS and I get a .pkg file but going to install it does absolutely nothing.  I click on the package icon and get the package opening animation and that is it.

Any ideas why the install might fail?

Thanks!

Hi @BR777, I am sorry that you are having a hard time getting Microsoft Edge installed.  Have you seen our help and support website, https://microsoftedgesupport.microsoft.com?  We have a page that helps you self diagnose installation problems on Mac https://microsoftedgesupport.microsoft.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019102233-Microsoft-Edge-Insider-bui....  If you want to get 1:1 support you can file a ticket from the support page and one of our support engineers will get back to you quickly.

I have experience the very same issue since MicrosoftEdgeCanary-93.0.910.0.pkg.
First the Canary automatically updated and then no longer functioned. If you start the app you see it open a screen and then close.
So, I removed the app completely including removing all files in the Applications folder and ~/Library folder. I then downloaded (every day for the last 8 days) the latest build from https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/download and tried to install. The installation starts and everything seems to work fine. It even gets to the "Successfully installed." screen. But nothing has been added to the Applications folder. The app is nowhere to be found on the entire system.
