Desktop Analytics is now generally available

As Brad announced this morning, Desktop Analytics is now generally available! Since our public preview release in July, we’ve seen over 3 million endpoints enrolled in Desktop Analytics. We can’t thank our public preview customers enough for trying out the service and providing valuable feedback.

Over the past few months, we’ve been hard at work delivering new features and addressing your feedback. Below is just a sample of what you can expect to find in the generally available Desktop Analytics solution:
  • Auto-rationalization of low-risk apps such as system components published by Microsoft and apps delivered via the Microsoft Store
  • Administrator data migration from Windows Analytics: Upgrade Readiness
  • Deeper integration with ConfigMgr phased deployments
  • Back-end improvements to performance, scale, and reliability
If you’ve been waiting to onboard to Desktop Analytics, the time is now! We encourage you to read up on what benefits Desktop Analytics can provide you, and get started with the service today. And as you onboard and use the tool, don’t forget to give us your feedback on UserVoice or directly in the Desktop Analytics portal—we look forward to reading it.

I'm excited to set up our Desktop Analytics tenant! We have several issues with our endpoints I would love visibility into and we are finally planning our Office 365 ProPlus deployment. It'll be nice to see how ready the organization is and see if its possible to pivot to 64-bit versions of office.

@Chaz Weber We look forward to have you on Desktop Analytics. I hope it helps to simplify your windows deployments.  You mentioned that you are planning Office 365 ProPlus deployments soon, I recommended you consider inbuilt capabilites in Configuration Manager to assess your office readiness and accelerate your office deployments. @Deepam Dubey We are going to use the Config Manager tools to kick things off but look forward to seeing everything in one console with Desktop Analytics.

Unfortunately, the requirement that we have Windows 10 A3 or A5 puts Desktop Analytics out of reach for us at this time. It's unfortunate as Windows Analytics was an immensely helpful tool.

Is it possible to please update the Desktop Analytics overview page (linked below) to include an important note that customers with Azure Government must set up a COMMERCIAL tenant? Azure Government does NOT support Desktop Analytics.

How can we improve Microsoft Azure Government?

Thanks

@Nathan Bridges i submitted a small PR to the docs clarifying the need for a 'global azure' subscription. The changes should be published in the next few days. We don't have any announcement at this moment to make regarding Azure Government support, but we are working at the moment on foundational pieces that would allow us to support Azure Government in the future.  I recommend submitting your feature requests to the configmgr uservoice community https://configurationmanager.uservoice.com/forums/300492-ideas?category_id=366805

Thanks for the follow-up. Do you have a link I can use that talks about the "Global Azure" subscription? First time hearing about this option. Much appreciated.

Thanks

Nathan
