We know that assessing application and driver compatibility is a critical task in planning your Windows 10 upgrades. You trust Desktop Analytics to warn you about any issues that can lead to in-place upgrade errors or a bad experience for users after the upgrade. You can already use Desktop Analytics to identify compatibility risks and develop a plan to remediate these assets.

Based on your feedback, we have done some enhancements to be better at how we show such issues to you in the Desktop Analytics portal. Now you can discover compatibility issues which can silently remove an asset from a device during upgrade. In such situation an asset can be partially or fully removed.

  • In case of full removals, the app or driver is completely removed from the device during upgrade.
  • In case of partial removals, the app or driver is partially removed from the device and user then needs to uninstall it manually.
  • In both the cases the user is not able to use the asset after upgrade, which can be a disruptive experience and we want you to be aware about it.

Learn more about how you can discover these recommendations in Desktop Analytics. Keep using Desktop Analytics, don’t forget to give us your feedback on UserVoice or directly in the Desktop Analytics portal—we look forward to reading it.
