Trying Iaas vms again after two years.
We go the VPN and networking setup, then I created a windows vm.
I enabled the backup job and forced the job to start. Its a Standard DS1 v2 windows 2016 vm. the backup job has been running for almost 2 hours.
I would expect it to be much faster 'in the cloud'
backups and snaps were the biggest reason we stopped our testing 2 years ago.
We use VMware and veeam onprem today and the infrastructure and application team expect that type of snaps/restore and backup/restore features. If its not there in Azure vms yet, we'll have to wait a few more years :)
