Not sure if this is the appropriate place but two people I spoke to at MS were really no help.
We are looking creating some VMs in Azure and then 'moving' some of our VMware VMs out to Azure, mostly for testing at this point.
When I create a VM in Azure and tell it, it's for VM with MS SQL, it starts out be "giving" me X amount of CPU but only 3.5GB of RAM? When I ramp it up to the minimum amount RAM an SQL server would require, the price (monthly) starts to go through the roof (something like $3K per month). Can this be right? What am I missing? I suppose I need to work with a reseller for the proper setup, etc. but what has anyone else's experience been with VMs using SQL in Azure? I realize it's highly dependant on the requirements, but overall, it seems very expensive.
