We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 8/7, 11:00 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 8/6, 10:00 UTC and that during the 21 hours that it took to resolve the issue, ~91 customers (~ .013%) experienced issues while trying to create web test alerts using the ARM template.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to a deployment of CDS that introduced a concurrency issue which resulted in failures for certain ARM deployments of web tests.
  • Incident Timeline: 21 Hours - 8/6, 10:00 UTC through 8/7, 11:00 UTC
We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.
